Penelope Franklin, founder of Pet Personal Histories, is a member of the Association of Personal Historians and has been a publishing professional for over 25 years. Working for such organizations
as Reader's Digest Books, HarperCollins Books, Oxford University Press, Columbia University and the United Nations Children's Fund, she has developed skills in writing, editing, research, interviewing,
book design, picture editing, and book production. She is a specialist in memoirs and other first-person accounts; and the author of Private Pages: Diaries of American Women (Ballantine Books).
Penne has edited and ghostwritten books and articles for hundreds of private clients. She is the co-author/researcher of several MapGuides to major cities, and author of the syndicated column
The Allergic Gourmet. She is also a co-founder of English Edit International and the Creative Literary Alliance.
Penne has shared her life, over the years, with almost every kind of animal friend, from dogs, cats and horses, to parakeets and fish, to turtles, snakes, squirrels, a hawk, a monkey and two chimpanzees (including the famous sign-language chimp Nim Chimpsky).
